Hypnosis is an exceptionally gentle and effective way of attaining personal goals and making lasting changes with ease. It can also facilitate healing in the body. These amazing transformations are achieved through direct communication with the subconscious mind whilst under a gentle, guided trance. The subconscious is that part of the mind in which habits and behaviours are formed and maintained. It controls our emotions, beliefs, self-esteem, immune systems, and bodies. It influences what we think, how we feel, the choices we make, and the actions we take.
In addition, the subconscious acts like a treasure chest, filled with the riches of who we truly are. Our personality, perceptions, intuition, inner wisdom and creativity all reside within the subconscious. Hypnosis creates the bridge to attain access to all of these inner riches so that you may shape and form your life as you’d like to experience it.
Whilst under hypnosis (trance) you will be guided, by the practitioner, into a state of deep relaxation. Most clients report feeling as though they had a gentle sleep whilst still being aware of the sound of the practitioner’s voice and outside noises.
Hypnosis is really safe and effective. It’s used by the US Military, Olympic Athletes, and the most successful Entrepreneurs and CEO’s, and it is taught at major universities around the world like Harvard, Princeton and Yale.
Matt Damon used hypnosis to quit smoking. Interviewed by Jay Leno, he said, "Using hypnosis was one of the greatest decisions of my life!"
Because hypnosis accesses the part of the brain which is responsible for facilitating harmony between mind and body, hypnosis can actually create physical changes in the body which will promote improved health and well-being and allow you to accomplish your goals with greater ease.
Specifically, hypnosis is useful for relaxation and stress management, implanting positive suggestions, transforming habits and subconscious patterns of behaviour from negative to positive, releasing emotional blocks, contacting our inner wisdom, and assisting the autonomic nervous system and stimulating the immune system to reduce or eliminate pain, to restore bodily processes to natural functioning and to heal injury or illness.
How does it work? Pierre Ranville, at the University of Toronto, looked at the areas of the brain that are activated by hypnosis in a paper published in Cognitive Neuroscience in 2002. Hypnotic states may diminish anxiety while also improving blood flow to the areas of brain that are responsible for attention and concentration. This means hypnosis may make it easier to overcome anxiety and other conditions that may be aggravated by anxiety, such as phobias and obsessional tendencies.
